Objectives: Feasibility study and investment analysis of biobased Butanol process 

Scope of work: Process concept development & design of 200kta Butanol plant from sugar cane with process steps including sucrose extraction from sugar cane, hydrolysis and fermentation to butanol and side products, butanol refining, water treatment, drying and CHP for waste (bagasse) to energy; detailed simulation model development for technology analysis, drafting process alternatives and process equipment preliminary design; Heat and process integration study including utility production and CHP optimization for sustaining biobutanol production process and electricity export to the grid; Techno-economic evaluation for location Europe and Brazil: CAPEX, OPEX and investment appraisal; development of Basis of Design (BOD) document for the contractor and conceptual design phase.
