Due diligence: New technology for production of chemical building blocks

Scope of work: As a part of its portfolio growth strategy, our client was investigating the possibility of acquiring an innovative company that specializes in the production of new chemical building blocks (molecules) from renewable feedstock. Building blocks (chemicals) are used for the production of different value products that include: adhesives, plasticizers, surfactants, solvents, etc. We conducted a thorough technology due diligence to assess the technological and economic viability of the innovative technology for synthesis of the chemical building blocks (ketals) and to evaluate techno-economic risks of technology scale-up  and commercialization.
