Product quality improvement: speciality low-density linear Polyethylene polymer

Client: JV Borealis & Exxon Chemical Holland Ventures (the Netherlands) 

Objective: Product quality and energy efficiency improvement of speciality chemical plant     

Scope of work: Our client requires a tighter product quality control to minimize the production of the off-spec and low-quality polyethylene product. Development of model based tool intended for improvement of product quality and energy efficiency improvement with the ultimate goal to be used for model predictive control of polyethylene reaction loop; Development of dynamic process model, linking the model to live plant measurement and historical data base for reaction kinetics parameter estimation, creating Excel-based interface for process monitoring and operator use.
